Well, it has kicked off with a large bang here in the UK, all five episodes shown on consecutive nights for the whole week. Am enjoying it so far, although I'd be happier if there were certain others in it that were hinted to turn up, but there are still 3 more to watch!

I am at a loss to understand the popularity of Eureka. Let's start with what does it want to be? Battlestar Galactica Final (5) Season

I first found the final 5 Cylons and to a lesser degree the hybrid to be gimmicky. My opinion of the former has changed but only partially. "Who is the final Cylon" is a gimmick to stir up interest in a show losing viewers. It is essentially the "Who shot JR?" gimmick. However I must admit it is a well done gimmick. We've had the first episode here. A little disappointing given the billing - but then maybe I'm jaded about violence and sex (in this case combined) on TV. I thought that if they were going to go there with Jack and John, they should have taken it further - it seemed a little "action-movie-ish" with the stress-releasing fight between protagonists. I suppose you can't have a gay rape scene on TV, but still, it felt unnecessarily held back. Torchwood is supposed to be dark.

Battlestar Galactica Razor

I'm not terribly interested in the Fourth Season of this show after the finale of the last, but this movie looks really interesting - I've even recorded Flash Gordon to watch the two-minute previews.

It really brings me back to see the old Cylons and their old ships - and Pegasus was one of the best things ever to happen to that show. Anyway, I'm hoping this incredibly long hiatus has allowed the creators to pull their act together...

Still don't understand why so many people hate this show.

Anyway, we just had the episode where the Indian woman gets herself resurrected by the Glove, which was one of the better eps so far...

But at the end, Ianto suggests to Jack other uses for the stopwatch that I'm pretty sure was a naked come-on, with Jack jumping on it and telling him to meet him in ten minutes in his office, for what I presume was hot monkey-sex. But this is a British show, so I'm not sure.

For those of you who have seen it, what are your impressions so far?

I thought Eccleston was a great Doctor, with a very dark and violent side. Shades of Sylvester McCoy and Tom Baker in there with a bit of the quirkiness of Troughton thrown in.

Tennant's potrayal is good, but not quite as good as Eccleston's I feel. He has a very manic side, He has the youth and wonder of Davidson's Doctor along with the eccentricity of Baker's.
